Play (pl)v.:
To occupy oneself in amusement, sport, or other recreation.  To deal or behave frivolously.
To move or operate in a lively manner.
To engage or take part in a game.

We play hide-and-seek, poker, tag, Monopoly, Nintendo.  Smiling, laughing, jumping, running.
Energy!  Joy!  That's what play is all about.

We founded Tonoi because we are a group of people who love to play and love each other's company.  We just want to have fun with each other and with you.  No more stuffy concert halls with artificial rules about when you can and cannot clap and whoop.  No more setting music on a pedestal to be heard but not fully experienced, explored, or even enjoyed.  No more borders between audiences and performers.  "Properly trained" or not, the people in the seats have as much creativity and artistry as those on the stage.  Music is human expression, never meant for an elite group of humans.  So whether it's Mozart or Bach, a new work or an impromptu improv, where we sit should not determine how much we play.

We are instrumentalists, singers, actors, active and interactive, the new face of classical music.

We want to play.  With you, not for you.
